In Loving Memory of Gustaw Augustyn Kaster

It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of Gustaw “Gus” Augustyn Kaster, late of Marayong, who left this world peacefully on the 24th of August, 2025, at the age of 94.

Beloved husband of Dorothy (dec.), and devoted father to Christine, Rosalie, Steven, Anthony, Kenneth, David, Jeffery, and Phillip, Gus’s greatest joy was his family. He was a cherished husband, father, brother, uncle,  grandfather and great-grandfather, whose gentle wisdom, warm humour, and boundless love will continue to echo through the generations he leaves behind.

Gus was a man strong in his faith, and he was also a man of many talents and passions. A gifted musician, he found joy in the soulful notes of the violin, the warmth of the piano, and the smooth melodies of the saxophone. His creativity extended far beyond music—he delighted in painting, jewellery making, and fossicking, each hobby reflecting his eye for beauty and wonder. He loved the outdoors, especially time spent fishing and camping, where he felt most at peace beneath the open sky.

A man of quiet strength, kindness, and resilience, Gus lived a full and vibrant life. He gave so much of himself to those he loved and never ceased to inspire with his creativity, patience, and devotion.

Though our hearts ache with loss, we are comforted knowing that Gus is reunited with his beloved Dorothy. His memory will remain a blessing, his legacy carried forward in the love of his family and the music of a life beautifully lived.

Rest peacefully, Gus. You will be deeply missed and forever loved.
