OBITUARY

Born in Malta and raised in Redfern, Emanuel “Shorty” Vassallo was small in stature but carried a giant heart. A loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, Emanuel was the heartbeat of his family and the life of every gathering.

He was proud of his Redfern roots and loved reminding everyone he knew how to box—just in case they forgot! His cheeky grin, love of horse racing, and joy in a good punt made him a character everyone remembered. Whether he was out shooting or cheering on a long shot at the track, Emanuel lived with passion and energy.

But it was his time with his granddaughter Katlin that brought him the most joy. Together, they laughed, played, and shared countless silly, beautiful moments—memories that will live on in all our hearts.

Emanuel's presence, his stories, and his love will never be forgotten. He was truly one of a kind.
