In Loving Memory of Andrew Xu
 

With broken hearts and unimaginable sorrow, we announce the tragic passing of Andrew Xu, a bright, kind, and beautiful soul, just shy of his 18th birthday. Andrew left this world far too soon on the 12th of July, 2025, leaving behind a space that can never be filled.

Beloved son of Kevin and Annie, and cherished younger brother to Andy, Andrew was the kind of person who brought light wherever he went. Whether it was through his infectious laugh, his quiet acts of kindness, or his radiant, sunny smile, Andrew had a rare and genuine way of making others feel seen and valued.

A student of Sydney Boys High School, Andrew approached life with curiosity, energy, and a spirit full of promise. He was a gifted athlete who gave his all on the basketball court, the rugby field, the soccer pitch, and during volleyball matches. No matter the sport, Andrew played with heart, humility, and determination—always lifting up his teammates, always playing for the love of the game.

But Andrew was more than an athlete. He had a deep love for music and found peace and expression through the piano. The sound of him playing would fill the home with beauty, just as his presence filled every space with warmth.

To know Andrew was to love him. His smile could light up a room, his laughter was contagious, and his empathy was beyond his years. He was the kind of friend who listened without judgment, the kind of son who brought pride to his parents daily, and the kind of brother who inspired and supported.

Andrew had dreams, so many of them, and though he did not have the time to see them all unfold, he lived his days with passion and purpose. He leaves behind memories that will be treasured forever, and a legacy of love, laughter, and light.

His absence leaves an aching silence, but we will continue to speak his name, to remember his smile, and to carry forward his kindness in the way we treat one another.
